Pastoral Support
Supporting pastors to be effective and flourish within their soul, role, and context.
Our Pastoral Support partnerships focus on relationships built on trust, openness, and confidentiality. We walk beside you through your personal, professional, and spiritual growth by providing:
-
These ‘role-centric’ sessions help leaders, ‘find, make and take up’ their ministry roles through critical, theological and ethical reflection, encouraging a conversation between the leader’s soul, role, and context.
-
This time is focused on our relationship with and understanding of God. Consequently this will effect how we live and minister.
-
These sessions are future focused; designed to look at both achieving goals and sustaining health and success in life and leadership through mutual curiosity. Clients will feel equipped, empowered and hopeful; developing even greater capacity to respond to all their various vocational and personal demands, whilst attaining their desired goals.
-
These sessions are led by a seasoned practitioner who offer their experience and wisdom in a comprehensive and wholistic session, exploring the health and vitality of the mentorees personal, professional, and spiritual world.
-
All faith traditions, including Judaism and Christianity, have followed the custom of spiritual retreats for centuries. On a Partners in Ministry retreat, we will experience the eloquence of spiritual disciplines – whilst in community. There will be space for teaching, discussion, personal reflection, and social gathering. This blend allows us to be open to God and deepen our understanding of ourselves, of God and how we live that out in vocation.
What can I expect from a session?
Walking Beside partnerships are intentional, contractual relationships characterized by trust and openness; partnerships that offer a confidential space for leaders to engage in candid discussions supported by specially trained and experienced practitioners. The sessions help facilitate the discovery of possibilities for personal, professional, and spiritual growth by fostering a conversation between a leader’s soul, role, and context.
The sessions also enhance workplace dynamics, fitness to lead, skill development, ethical maturity, goal achievement, boundary management, and theological reflection.
Walking Beside sessions serve as pathways for vocational identity development and mutual learning. Where possible, the Partners in Ministry Partner will use the framework of 3GFlex:
How are you Going? How are you Growing? How did you Go?
The Partner will support the leader within the modality agreed upon by both parties for the Walking Beside relationship unless the need for another type of support emerges during the session. In that case, the partner will “flex” into another of the four modalities offered within our Partners in Ministry disciplines, done with permission given from the leader via the Walking Beside Agreement.
Whether the modality used in sessions is coaching, mentoring, supervision, or spiritual direction, leaders have noted that meeting regularly with a Partners in Ministry Partner becomes an indispensable component for sustaining health and success in their life and ministry while empowering greater capacity to respond to the various demands of ministry, navigating both the joy and challenge of ministry.
Setting aside time, even just an hour per month, is a valuable way to champion a leader’s well-being, benefiting the minister and, indirectly, those they serve.
